For my client, a global telecommunications organisation I am currently looking for a Snr. Software Developer (Cold Fusion) for an initial 6 month day rate contract to be based in Brussels
Position Overview
The Senior Software Developer will form part of a software development team. You are involved in the specification, design, planning, implementation and maintenance of the system and will take a lead role in some of these activities.
Your tasks include:

Contribute to the delivery of high quality products and/or sub-systems to agreed deadlines.

Maintain existing components, extend them and carry out test runs.

Investigate and resolve customer or operational issues where necessary.

Participate in code reviews, identify risks and escalate issues when necessary.

Collaborate with other developers, QA and other parties to ensure high quality software.

Identify best practice improvements and make changes as agreed with the Team Lead.

Provide information to the project leader to assist with project planning.

Provide input on technical direction.

Keep technical skills up to date.
Education/Experience & Required Skills
-
You obtained an honours degree in a computer-related discipline, or equivalent computer-related technical experience.

You have 5 years professional experience developing web Technologies/applications on Windows, Unix, and Linux

You have good programming experience in Cold Fusion

You have experience of HTML, XML, DHTML, Javascripts, CSS

Having good programming experience in Java and Web Services is a distinct advantage

You have knowledge of RDBMS systems primarily in Oracle

You have knowledge of SQL

You see challenge in maintaining extending existing critical component.

You have knowledge of security technology and systems (X509 standards, openSSL, hardware security devices like Ncipher?) is an asset

You have good knowledge of development (design, building, testing, debugging etc) and hand-on knowledge of development best practices used on day-to-day basis.

You are an effective team player, providing input and advice to the team on issues relating to software development
