I currently have a requirement for a contract Mortgage Underwriter, to work for a financial services in Manchester.Location: Manchester
Duration: 3 months +
Rate: £ neg p/d
Start Date: ASAP
Areas of accountability:
Risk based assessment of:
- Loans exceeding £250,000
- Self employed customers
- Referred applications which do not meet minimum credit score or affordability requirements
- Referred applications which do not meet lending policy
Supporting inbound telephone enquiries for advice and lending decisions from Sales teams and branch network, and face to face referrals from operational teams. Supporting the customer experience by contacting customers directly to deliver complex lending decisions.
Referral to appropriate sales channel for advice when required.
Ensuring decisions made meet required quality standards, are within own defined mandate, and comply with current risk appetite defined by Banking Risk.
Ensure at all times that services provided to customers are consistent with all relevant quality, risk & regulatory procedures & standards whilst ensuring a good customer service.
Identifying trends and making recommendations for changes to processes and lending policy.
Providing timely feedback and coaching to colleagues within own team, and in operational areas and sales when appropriate. Proactively identifying areas to provide guidance/training to others.
Maintain knowledge of the regulatory and legal requirements relevant to the role. Support and promote compliance with those requirements within the role and the business.
Achievement of defined Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements.
