JOB SUMMARY

Methods is currently looking for an experienced auditor to contribute to the operational requirements of the Internal Audit Plan, so as to provide its clients with a comprehensive modern audit service on its internal control and risk management activities.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • During audit assignments undertaking all key stages of the reviews including planning, audit testing, analysis of a variety of complex information and commenting on required policy/procedural enhancements.
  • Produce audit reports summarising key findings and make recommendations, without the advice of the audit manager, for improvements to procedures and control systems
  • Attendance at exit meetings/report discussion meetings with senior managers in order to highlight the significance of the audit findings and negotiate recommendations for control and procedural enhancements.
  • Attendance at pre-audit meeting to agree and develop assignment scope and attendance at exit meetings and report discussion meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES IN RESPECT OF OTHER ORGANISATIONS

  • Undertake and supervise audit assignments at a variety of external clients as required, in line with all requirements set out above.
  • Liaison with senior managers across all organisations to develop the, annual timetable audit assignment briefs (including the audit day budget) and work plans.
  • Monitoring the audit assignment budgets, to ensure that assignments are completed within budget.
  • Lead auditor for a nominated client organisation.
  • First point of call for queries and advice on policy/procedural development across a rage of systems for that client organisation.
  • Experience of Audit Committee attendance including the presentation of audit reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Practitioner Institute of Internal Auditors (PIIA) or studying for professional accountancy qualification (diploma)
  • Member Association of Accounting Technicians (MAAT)
  • or Relevant Degree.
  • (or equivalent knowledge and experience)
  • Attendance at relevant courses to gain additional specialist knowledge, in areas such as risk management, governance, capital, fraud etc.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
