Description

To manage the design of major multi £m district heating projects throughout the UK, working autonomously and accountable for team performance

Appraisal and interpretation of the Client requirements to ensure that all technical, commercial and legislative parameters of the project are understood and communicating relevant issues to the appropriate personnel within the Company.

Ensure that the project is designed to the Community Energy's quality and design standards and meeting all relevant legislative requirements.

Contribute towards the development of the CE design and operational strategy utilising particular area expertise

Contribute and develop processes, specifications, procedures to enhance the efficiency of the design team

Provide guidance and mentoring of staff within immediate team and others outside of the team as appropriate

Ideal requirements:

In depth Knowledge and competence in the use of CAD software
In depth Knowledge and competence in the use of computer assisted design software - Energ Pro etc.
Knowledge and competence in the use of Microsoft Office
In depth knowledge of CDM, auditing, and risk assessment
Hazop/risk assessment practical application knowledge
Knowledge and awareness of industry Health & Safety legislation requirements
In depth CHP system knowledge
Knowledge & Application of pressure system standards and control (PED)
Knowledge of boiler functionality & operation and design
Knowledge and competency in the use of all relevant National, European and International Boiler design codes
In depth Knowledge of DH network design
Knowledge of chilled water systems design
Knowledge of electrical design
Knowledge of thermal and electrical system modelling
Knowledge of hot water distributions
Knowledge of BMS/SCADA systems
Knowledge of biomass systems
Knowledge of biomass gasification
Knowledge of flue gas dispersion modelling
Knowledge of water treatment
Must be team player but must be able to manage own workload
Must be able to build strong relationships with clients and other team members
Ability to resolve complex problems (sometimes unique) through the application of significant systematic & rational judgements that have implications beyond own area.
Develops innovative solutions & ensures solutions are consistent with organisational objectives.
Commercial and contractual experience sufficient to provide guidance to Business Development and Delivery Teams
Manages resource and organises workload for self and immediate team
Coaching and mentoring of team members and advsing management of team training requirements
Instilling good practice within the team and ensuring adherence to sound engineering principles and techniques
Qualified to HNC/HND/degree with 10 to 15 years relevant experience
