UNIX (Solaris Linux) Administrator
12 month contract
Dublin City
A large well-known institution currently require the expertise of a Unix Administrator for a 12 month contract job based in one of their multiple offices in Dublin city.
As part of a wider team of 20 people you will be directly responsible for the support and administration of a large UNIX environment.
While Solaris/Linux is the sought after flavour of Unix for this role the infrastructure also includes HPUX, AIX so all candidates will be considered.
Some of the responsibilities include:
* Developing solutions to automate Unix system administration, deployment and management activities
* Task automation and implementation of process improvements
* Performing root-cause analysis of infrastructure problems; identifying solutions and making recommendations; assisting with taking appropriate remedial steps towards solution
* Designing, developing, testing, implementation and maintenance of complex systems infrastructure
Additional Key Skills:
* 3 years + Unix Sys Admin experience (Solaris/Linux preferably)
* High Availability Software experience (VERITAS ideally)
* Virtualisation/consolidation experience
* Network: TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, NIS
* Implementing and reviewing Unix security standards
