My client is a global banking group and I am currently looking for a Fund Migration Manager on a daily rate basis for 6 months. This role can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.

My client provides fund administration and accounting services to third party investment managers, pension funds and other parts of their group business worldwide.

The Funds Transition Team supports business growth by execution of the fund migration activities for new business wins.

The Team also manage and deliver the on-going change activities for existing clients including fund launch, fund merger, fund closure and transition of assets between portfolios.

Responsibilities:

From a fund migration perspective, the role holder will specifically support:

  • analysis of the Funds (Pricing, Trial Balance, Tax and Fee Structures)
  • testing of the migration activities
  • conducting the migration upload/reconciliation
  • parallel run reconciliation and reviews with focus being on investigating and resolving issues to both client and organisation satisfaction

The role also entails support for Business SME's in mapping the ultimate service delivery requirements to the methodology and Operational processes to support a successful end to end migration.

From a re-structure perspective, the role holder will lead the delivery of change projects for the existing client base with these projects having been pre-approved via the Client & Business Change Function

The role holder will manage virtual teams comprising additional contributors from within the Team and also from across the Business Teams in multiple locations.

Management of Risk: (Operational Risk/FIM requirements)

Is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.

Observation of Internal Controls: (Compliance Policy/FIM requirements)

  • Maintains organisation internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.

Role Context

This role is based in Edinburgh or Glasgow (dependant on candidate preference) with travel between sites being necessary and travel to other locations and client/Third Party offices being as required.

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications

  • Significant operational experience across Fund types (OEIC's, Unit Trusts, Pension, SICAV's, Life and Pension)
  • Sound understanding of the principals/objectives of fund re-structuring (launches, mergers, closures, asset movement between funds)
  • Proven track record of leading the migration element of new business wins or as lead on complex re-structuring projects. This can be as the lead from an operational perspective
  • Client facing change experience highly desirable
  • Sound understanding of Fund Accounting Systems - Icon preferable

  • Valuation and Pricing
  • End to End understanding of fund accounting and reporting
  • Project management knowledge desirable particularly in the area of planning and risk identification
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and strong negotiation skills
  • Highly organised, able to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines
  • Good process design skills
  • Good training and knowledge transfer skills

Qualifications

  • IAQ Merit Award or equivalent.- Required
  • PRINCE2/Six Sigma - Useful
  • IMC Certificate - Desired
  • CFA - Desired
  • ACCA/CIMA - Desired
