The role will involve implementing oversight controls across the outsourced unit pricing of unit linked funds, monitor and report key risks and controls across Investment Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement daily & monthly controls across the FL unit linked fund ranges.
  • Ensure control exceptions are investigated, remediated and control improvements are identified, developed and implemented as appropriate
  • Develop, maintain and update the Controls Matrix (ORCID) to ensure completeness of controls and accuracy in MI reporting.
  • Ensure that all Investment Operations controls are implemented in accordance with approved policies, consistent with the principles of TCF and the ABI Guide of Good Practice for Unit Linked Funds.
  • Report to Group Risk any incidents or near misses and ensure that all agreed actions are implemented within agreed timescales
  • Implement daily controls over discretionary use of Shareholder capital to protect unit linked funds
  • Manage the delivery of box management data from Outsourced Providers in accordance with agreed timescales
  • Support the production of the monthly box management MI pack complete with analysis and commentary on data outside agreed thresholds

Key Role Criteria:

  • Educated to A Level/Degree standard and/or IAQ/FPC qualified or equivalent.
  • Significant technical knowledge of investment instruments, such as UTs, OEICs and SICAVs
  • Knowledge of Investment Administration and Policy Admin systems
  • Thorough understanding of Unit Linked Pricing and ABI guidelines
  • Thorough knowledge of principles of box management
  • Proven track record in Investment Operations, including asset servicing - security price collection, income collection, corporate events.
  • Substantial knowledge of Investment Accounting systems
  • Knowledge of investment securities & markets
  • Good knowledge of MS Access & Excel
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of unit pricing practices, inputs and influences
  • Proven ability to control large volumes of data with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skill, having the ability to analyse issues, present solutions & resolve problems
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong time management skill, ensuring service levels are met and also having the ability to reprioritise both individual and the teams deliverables and workload at short notice
