Project Manager - IT

Reporting to the Head of IT, the key responsibilities of this position will be to work with IT and other Departmental Managers, to plan and manage key projects.

The Project Manager will liaise directly with the IT delivery teams and managers to develop project plans, track their progress and identify & mitigate risks & issues to ensure successful execution of all projects.

The role will focus on delivering effective solutions for all departments & locations in the organisation, thereby demonstrating the Company's commitment to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement formal project management methodology and deliver continuous improvement of same
  • Develop and manage detailed project/task plans, timelines, resource requirements, test plans and training as necessary
  • Support Business Improvement team in controlling project scope to ensure successful project delivery in accordance with specified deadlines
  • Track projects weekly and report to stakeholders on progress including milestones, issues and problem resolution Assess business case and evaluate strategic alignment of all projects
  • Work with project sponsors and stakeholders to identify and document project goals, objectives and action plans in order to facilitate successful implementation/execution of all projects
  • Foster strong working relationship with business stakeholders, Development, Business Analysis & Testing teams

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a project management role in a client-driven environment (preferably within the insurance/financial services industry)
  • PRINCE2 certified or equivalent
  • Strong project management skills; demonstrable ability to  develop project plans & see projects through to successful completion within established time frames/budget/resources
  • Ability to model business process flow diagrams and analyse the process effectiveness
  • Proven track record in implementing best in class project management processes and tools
  • Thorough understanding of formal Software Development Life Cycle practice
  • Proven experience of delivering process improvement projects and development of financial reporting and operating systems.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certified (desirable)
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office ( Excel, Word
