Solution Architect - Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

Description

The MES Systems Architect will act as a plant floor Manufacturing Automation Specialist and technical leader. She/he will be responsible for design, integration, life cycle management and support work alongside the Business Analyst to develop key project artefacts and desired outcomes. 

The MES Architect will work alongside the preferred supplier of the deployment of a Manufacturing Execution Systems in one of the customer's manufacturing plant, ensuring that all downstream system interfaces are operational and tested to meet customer Standards

Contribute to/develop to-be solution architecture, data/object models, technology/platform selection spanning SCADA, MES layers and ERP integration and other Legacy applications

Skill Sets Required

  • A deep understanding of Manufacturing Systems and Plant Floor Systems.
  • A deep understanding of the core concepts for supervisory control and data acquisition in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of the Automotive Business Operating Model
  • Breadth and depth. Of ICT Systems (Hardware/Software/Communications Interfacing etc.).
  • SAP Integration
  • Real Time Data collection, Analysis and Reporting

Experience

Essential

  • Large Scale Manufacturing Systems
  • Previously developed using Assembler, C,/C++ or Java
  • Minimum 15+ years post graduate  ICT experience(Analysis, Design, Build, Deploy)
  • 3- 5 years' experience in supporting Automotive or Large Scale production applications.
  • Proven experience of data/interface access troubleshooting and knowledge of industry standard communication drivers and protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of at least one MES System and other automation utilities applications.
  • Integration to SAP ERP Systems
  • Demonstrated ability to solicit input, organize into a direction, and create actionable technical plans, and executes to achieve the desired result.
  • PLC programming
  • Ability to properly prioritize multiple requests from different stakeholders in a time constrained environment.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional groups regionally dispersed groups
  • Proven Ability to provide technical directions to business partner
