Description
This person will bring GIS expertise to the workflows where needed, helping to grow the use of GIS within client. This person will support both corporate and regional offices to help:- Implement advanced GIS tools for business analyses
- Provide expertise to integrate GIS into workflows
- Conduct spatial analysis to support business processes
- Support the GIS team with other related projects
- Support the corporate GIS initiatives in building a central repository of spatial data
Specific first year performance objectives include:
Business Intelligence and Integration
1. Extend our existing prototype, involving the ESRI GeoEvent Processor, for managing real time data and the historical data generated. Currently, this prototype is drawing data from various sources including fleet information from GPS-enabled field vehicles and sensor data from field automation devices. Specific goals include:
a. Extend the number of attributes currently being tracked and leverage additional capabilities of the technology including advanced filtering, geofencing, and notifications.
b. Deploy an Operations dashboard for real-time monitoring and intelligent dispatch.
c. Analyze methods for storing and querying historical data generated by the ESRI GeoEvent Processor either using our current spatial database or possibly deploying an advanced database server such as Hadoop. Part of this task will entail developing analyses methods for extracting information and generating time animations from the historical data. (For example, based on destination locations, what would be the most optimal routes for a group of drivers to take?)
2. Integrate GIS with key business applications including SAP to allow application users to launch a map with operational asset data, and to allow map users to get to key operational asset data through a map interface.
3. Identify and exploit other opportunities to integrate GIS into workflows across Apache for improving business processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated experience with ESRI software with specific expertise in spatial analyses
- Proven ability to support the integration of GIS into workflows
- Petroleum industry and petroleum datasets experience
- Experience with Land systems and workflows is desired
