The Managed Markets Copywriter takes responsibility for (assigned) Brand concept, writing, and presentation of all projects for assigned accounts, with a focus on Managed Markets. This includes being aware of current communications technology and media channels, including digital, and having the vision to utilize them creatively for meeting marketing objectives.The successful Managed Markets Copywriter is able to take and give direction and effectively communicate needs of client and agency business. This person possesses an understanding of advertising communications and brand strategy and the pharmaceutical industry landscape. The Managed Markets Copywriter is aware of, and directed by, brand objectives and strategies.Description of DutiesHelps secure solid agency/client relationship in the copywriting role o Focuses on achieving the client's brand objectiveso Helps ensures creative expectations are meto Represents and defends the agency point of view, handles objections in a professional manner o Helps influence clients to embrace leading edge technologieso Contributes appropriate insights, facts, and data to foster the planning and creative processes ·Explores ways to add value to client marketing/advertising efforts by contributing new ideas and ways to improve brand performanceo Helps provides strategic direction to grow the brando Generates opportunities to deliver additional value-added communications and/or business-building ideas for client·Possesses a solid understanding of agency strategic (Brand Story) and creative process (Creative Brief) and contributes to the development of strategic recommendationo Contributes to the development or refinement of brand positioning and communication objectiveso Proactively reviews strategic plan to support brand planning and makes recommendations to senior teamo Exhibits critical thinking for brand and overall businesso Actively contributes to creative reviews and message development; offers critical evaluation· Works with a cross-functional agency teamo Demonstrates solid partnership with all functions and disciplines within agencyo Maintains a solid knowledge base of client brand, competitive landscape and market activityo Works with functional leads to improve process and create a positive team environment·Proficient at managing, developing and motivating any direct reportso Sets clear performance expectations and identifies stretch goalso Creates and fosters development opportunitiesMinimum RequirementsCollege Degree· Minimum of 5 years as a copywriter with payer/managed markets experience, and demonstrated accomplishments in work and talent· Proficiency in critical software-primarily Microsoft Word· Demonstrated ability to create copy that is on strategy and effective· Ability to manage the creative process, workflow, workload, and resources among copy group· Demonstrated success in working with and/or managing a cross-functional team, a plus· Conceptual Creativity: Ability to think in abstract terms; can make connections between unrelated notions; can formulate innovative ideas where others cannot; seen as original and value-added in brainstorming sessions; can creatively apply conceptual platforms to all off- and on-line media· Understanding and Implementing Direction: Can understand creative direction based on objectives and executes creative work effectively.
