MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Four-year Degree in Engineering discipline and at least 5 years of relevant experience providing direct manufacturing process support.

* Masters' Degree in Engineering discipline and at least 3 years of relevant experience providing direct manufacturing process support.

* Previous experience using risk management tools such as PFMEA's or other control plans.

* Well informed and current on machining and metal finishing methods and metal machining equipment.

* A thorough understanding of manufacturing and its needs, giving the ability to research and develop the tools, processes, machines and equipment so as to integrate the facilities and systems to produce quality products economically and safely.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Responsible for the development of all machining, metal finishing and assembly methods for assigned product lines.

* Creates conceptual designs for new fixtures, gages and special cutting tools. Conducts tool design reviews with Tooling Team personnel, purchasing personnel and outside tool suppliers.

* Completes activities of the change control policy and CAPA system

* Completes activities of Lean Sigma projects and process improvements

* Works closely with various departments in manufacturing to provide or secure information, coordinate activities or solve problems.

* Leads and/or actively participates in design reviews, DFMEA & pFMEA

* Provides technical support to purchasing personnel and suppliers

* Develops the manufacturing plan for new products and coordinates the entry of Manufacturing Process Planning information into the MRP system.

* Working with the Cam Engineer, Tooling Engineer and other Team personnel.

* Reviews engineering drawing changes and makes/initiates appropriate changes in manufacturing tools, fixtures, processes, CNC programs, bills of material or routings. Documents all changes through the Manufacturing Engineering process control system.

* Conducts technical manufacturing reviews of suppliers.

* Initiates and directs improvements in current manufacturing methods and processes to improve past quality schedule performance and to reduce manufacturing costs.

* Travel as required for company business transactions.

* Utilize PFMEA tools to perform process improvements.

* Support product launch and core business initiatives by utilizing project management tools. Seek resources, track and communicate status of product launch, provide solutions to launch issues and opportunities.
