A San Jose healthcare provider is seeking a Clinical Systems Engineer, to employ on a contract to hire basis. This is a great opportunity to work for a well-known healthcare provider, with training and growth opportunities. You will be working alongside the Senior Systems Engineer to manage the Clinical Information System. You will be the primary engineer responsible for the health, maintenance, and upgrades of all back end Clinical Systems. You will be solely responsible for the future implementation of applications and systems, as they are assigned by the Infrastructure and Operations Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Provide Tier 3 support to clinical operations for all associated applications.
  • Manage server administration and maintenance of clinical technology infrastructure including
  • Manage and monitor daily backups of all critical systems and ensure disaster recovery objectives are always met
  • Develop, manage, and monitor daily process jobs for all clinical systems
  • Coordinate with Helpdesk Manager to resolve system problems, and act as Tier 3 support for clinical systems
  • Troubleshooting or assuming ownership of escalated and more complex Helpdesk tickets, resolving complex issues in a timely manner and sharing solution with IT team
  • Evaluate, test and install new software releases, system upgrades and patches, and conduct system migrations as necessary
  • Ensure software/hardware licensing compliance
  • Assist with refinement, monitoring, and evaluation of our Information Technology Plan and on assigned projects related to the implementation of that plan


QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Computer Science/MIS or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft MCSE or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years Clinical Systems Engineer experience
  • Microsoft MCTS SQL Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance or equivalent experience

REQUIREMENTS:

Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting skills (identify, research and resolve technical problems)
  • Ability to communicate well with management, users and vendors, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience with EMR
  • Orchard Harvest 8.0 and above
  • HL7 & Rosetta Interfaces
  • Microsoft AD 2008/LDAP integration
  • Microsoft SQL 2008R2/2012
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008R2 and above
  • Advanced knowledge of networking principals

    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, meet deadlines, and meet the established Service Level Agreement for IT support

  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to travel out of the area on business (<=25% Travel).
  • Reliable transportation, valid state driver's license, good driving record, and auto insurance to meet PPMM standards.
  • Ability to lift 50 lb.


  • OPTIONAL: Work experience in a non-profit environment is a plus. Knowledge of the following is a plus Cisco CCNA , Unix/Linux. NextGen Certified Professional with up to 5 years of experience
