A large and rapidly growing organisation who are a key client of our's are currently recruiting for an Operational SQL DBA to join their large Data and BI operation at their head office in London.As part of the DBA team the right candidate will be required to deliver production DBA services and assist with day to day business requests and supporting project work when required.
Essential Skills and Experience required:
*Solid track record of working as an MS SQL DBA
*Preferably holds a SQL DBA certification
*Solid experience primarily with SQL 2008r2 and experience with SQL 2012 would be advantageous
*Extensive optimisation and performance tuning experience
*Strong T-SQL skills with experience of building stored procedures and triggers
*Exposure to ETL using SSIS
*Knowledge of OLAP processes
*Experience of SQL replication, mirroring and clustering
*Excellent communication skills with strong stake holder management skills
*Experience of SQL Backup strategies
Role responsibilities:
*Ensuring daily business as usual activities are maintained
*Ensure backup and recovery jobs are successful and take remedial action as required
*Monitor and resolve logged incident tickets
*Engage with other internal business units
*Installation, configuration and upgrading of Database server software and related products
*Database tuning and performance monitoring
*Undertake general technical troubleshooting
*Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
*Assist in Database design and implementation
*Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
*Assist in continuous improvement of the database environment.
*Performs, evaluates, and documents technology evaluations and installations of SQL server and Databases
