We currently have a fantastic new requirement for a Contracts Negotiator to work on an exciting contract role with one of our leading clients. The role is based in the area of Hampshire and boasts an attractive rate. This role requires an SC clearance so you must be willing/eligible to undergo SC Clearance.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the different types of commercial/contract models and how to use them;
  • Write and negotiate unique contract and subcontract language, and make business decisions involving contractual, legal, and financial issues;
  • Write and negotiate standard/template procurement and subcontract terms and conditions language;
  • Write and negotiate Teaming Agreements, MoU's, Reseller Agreements, Heads of Agreement, etc;
  • Ensure Terms and Conditions compliance, including flow down of prime contract commercial requirements to suppliers;
  • Manage, provide guidance on and administer multiple, complex sales contracts, and acquisitions and relationships with minimum management assistance;
  • Independently define all risks and create and implement solutions to problems and issues as they arise;
  • Independently identify, define and implement contract and subcontract revisions and improvements in accordance with normal procedures;
  • Liaise with internal organisations, customers and suppliers in support of above and provide guidance and advise relevant to assigned agreements;
  • Ensure timeliness of all contract and subcontracts actions;
  • Keep leads, team leads and/or managers appraised of current issues and their mitigation/resolution;
  • Issue and analyse RFQs/ITTs;
  • Evaluate multiple contract packages;
  • Make recommendations to lead, team lead or manager (as appropriate) in regards to the outcome of the procurement selection process, including identification of any risks or alternatives associated with the selection;
  • Improve the standards for proposals/ITTs
  • Get other related disciplines involved and co-operating for the successful conclusion of the process.
  • Carry out negotiations in support of the above;
  • Complete negotiations in a reasonable time with minimal management/team lead dependency;
  • Be influential in negotiation plan including preparation, strategy, appointment of roles and the approval process and is able to maintain effective control of the sessions;
  • Resolve difficult problem areas and show a risk avoidance approach to doing so;
  • Provide advice and counsel to programme staff and the facility including presentations to management;
  • Work with minimal supervision against established procedures;
  • Prepare and/or assist in preparation of correspondence, presentations, reports and/or contract summaries, and brief facility management on related issues. In so doing is able to demonstrate effective problem solving;
  • Be a 'team player', but have sufficient confidence to manage their own workload and projects.
  • Work flexibly on multiple tasks concurrently and take on new challenges as required.
  • Be an excellent communicator and to be able to develop strong positive relationships with customers and suppliers.
Desired Skills:
  • Diverse background in contracts/subcontracts (Commercial, International, and UK MoD).
  • The qualified candidate will possess excellent business acumen and oral and written communication skills. They will also be skilled in interpreting request for proposals and ITT's, developing contract/subcontract positions and articulating the positions with supporting documentation to management.
  • Experience in capture teams.
  • Ability to develop strong positive relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Individual who thrives on challenges and has experience working within a fast paced environment.
  • Capability to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Able to demonstrate computer competency and able to work within various procurement, contracts, procurement, and financial systems to update, maintain or extract procurement and contract data.
