Description

This position will be responsible for supporting sourcing and spend analysis activities for its assigned projects and categories within the development department. Will be primarily supporting our field business partners on various construction sourcing projects.

Strategic Sourcing Execution
Provides support for Sourcing Managers as they execute sourcing projects to generate required savings, including:
  • Analyzing data in support of sourcing events and initiatives
  • Understanding data sources and proactively seeking ways to improve data accuracy and integrity
  • Conducting market and supplier research in support of sourcing strategies
  • Supporting deployment and transition activities
  • Following and creating project plans, deliverables, metrics and milestones for associated projects
Additional technical support includes
  • Assisting with managing data import and export functionality
  • Providing and customizing reports
  • Developing technical efficiency with spend analysis and visibility tools, to create spend analyses, determine baseline spend and calculate realized savings from sourcing events
People/Relationship Management
  • Works effectively in teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
  • Self-starter, able to determine work steps based on management direction
  • Ability to communicate effectively to various business partners through phone and email
  • Ability to align own activities with group's goals and strategies
  • Takes initiative and asks clarifying questions as necessary
SKILLS:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, including supplier negotiations, selection, evaluation, management, and development; must be able to demonstrate extensive hands-on experience
  • Thinking critically and structuring analyses to solve poorly defined problems
  • Basic project management skills, including understanding how to plan for own work in reasonable time frame and break tasks into achievable sub-tasks
  • Strong analytical abilities, including ability to leverage Excel, Access and other quantitative analysis tools
  • Establishing personal credibility
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with many levels of management in both one-on-one and multi-disciplinary group settings
  • This position requires a high level of customer service focus.
  • Planning and Organizing Skills required
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, Engineering or related field required.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience in related functions.
  • Experience in Construction or Manufacturing is a plus
