JOB TITLE: Medical Advisor - DiabetesSALARY: £65,000
LOCATION: Berkshire
Basic purpose of the position
To provide medical expertise within the Medico-Marketing team to support the Company's products and services within the NHS environment and provide medical support to other functions.
Accountabilities
* Provide a medical perspective to the development of UK medico-marketing strategy and contribute to the design and approval of promotional materials in order to position and support the Company's products to ensure compliance with minimum risk to the business
* Provide medical interpretation of data required for within specified timeframes to ensure accurate understanding and support to business KPIs
* Actively contribute to the development of Phase IV study programmes and facilitate the Investigator Initiated Study Process to meet divisional and business objectives
* Take a lead role in the medical plan for the managed entry of products into the market place and be responsible for maintaining product specific business plans
* Provide medical training to field force representatives and other internal customers on a regular basis to ensure maximum effectiveness in message delivery.
* Lead advisory boards for key opinion leaders providing facts and data
* Assist with the investigation and resolution of problems which arise in the Medical and Scientific Affairs team and Medico- marketing teams to ensure business goals are met.
* Share knowledge and technical expertise with other team members to assist their learning and maximise the efficiencies of the Medical Division
Required Education & Knowledge
* Fulfil the requirements to maintain status as a licensed doctor in the UK
* Membership of other professional bodies as appropriate
* In depth understanding of the Code of Practice
* Extensive knowledge of developments in the therapy area
* General knowledge of pharmaceutical medicine (e.g. 1st year Dip Pharm Med)
Skills & Experience
* Experience of liaising with Medical Key Opinion Leaders
* Experience of liaising with higher level NHS Organisations
* Experience of interacting with Patient Groups
Entry (Minimum requirements for role holder at Entry)
* Medically qualified and GMC registered
* Preferably with a higher qualification, e.g. MRCP or equivalent
* Preferably industry or clinical trial experience
* Preferably medical experience appropriate to the therapeutic area
* If no previous industry experience, need demonstrated post registration clinical experience
