Description
Our customer in Basel is setting up a project to migrate applications from legacy servers to the internal cloud and is looking for experienced Change Engineers available immediately for at least 2 month full time. Weekend work is expected.Role:
- Responsible to execute application migrations to our virtual environment following defined processes
- Execute Physical to Virtual migration using VMware Converter
- Disable Source System
- Install VMware Tools
- Disable Media Drives
- Ensure required Admin accounts are assigned/copied over via converter, on the virtualized server
- Boot up Target System on Vblock
- Install Qualification for Server Move from IGlobe to Connect
- Place workorder for extended monitoring if required
- Report on change executed
Experience:
- Knowledgeable in VMware tools and Windows servers
- Need experience in Windows server administration (Win 2008, 2012)
- Need hands on experience in VM provisioning, P2V (Physical to Virtual conversion), V2V (Virtual to Virtual conversion), Template, Cloning.
- Basic understanding about vCenter tools.
- Basic Knowledge on VMware ESXi Host 5.1 /5.5
- Basic Knowledge on DRS, HA, VMotion, Storage VMotion.
- Fluent in English - oral and written
- Previous experience in Application Migration project in a regulated environment is a defining factor
- Ability to work in an international as well as multicultural environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility and experience in prioritizing tasks
- Ability to flow to the work and get hands on when needed
