My client who is a large blue chip company are looking for a Category Manager. The company is a well-known brand and has a fantastic reputation in their market. The business has a great working culture and this is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate.
Job Purpose
The Category Manager is responsible for:
* Development and delivery of Category Strategies for the specified area
* Control and delivery of an annual sourcing plan
* Management of direct reports
* Delivery against departmental targets directly and through their team
* Serve as the primary interface to key stakeholders associated with their category
* Accountability for delivery of strategic sourcing events, including preparation and leadership of complex negotiations
Experience Required
Required procurement capabilities will include:
* Deep understanding of category management or equivalent Line of Business experience
* Strong knowledge of the strategic sourcing process
* Effective negotiation skills
* Effective Project Management skills
* Proficient in stakeholder management and communications
* Proficient in using analytical tools and techniques
* Effective presentation skills
* Able to work across all functions and levels of an organisation
* Ability to define and measure benefits, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
* An understanding of the market/supplier dynamics in the sub-category area
