A Renewable Energy client is looking for a Structural Engineer to work on their offshore wind farm project. The client is looking for an individual who can start a 12mth freelance contract at the beginning of September 2014.Tasks/Responsibilities
Be an active and positive member of the Project team.
Ensure that technical solutions are developed and aligned with best practice and technical leading advisors in the base organisation
Follow up sub-contractors on their studies related to substructure and tower and report as required
Participate in workshops and communicate on interfaces with other disciplines
Responsible for establishing interface matrices for own discipline
Contribute to Risk related activities and secure a risk based focus on activity planning
Contribute to a cost-effective Tower and Substructure design, fabrication and installation
Contribute with discipline input to the coded documents as requested by Engineering Manager and the Lead Structural Engineer
Assist in the preparation of the ITT documents for the proceeding Execution phase
Follow up of FEED contracts
Key Skills/Qualifications:
MSc/BSc or other relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Naval Architecture or similar
Experience from project development/execution related to offshore wind and/or offshore floating structures
Knowledge of clients governing documentation
Detailed knowledge of structural design for offshore structures in load out, transport, installation- and operational phase. Hydrodynamic
Well-developed inter-discipline understanding, co operational- and communication abilities
Structured, systematic and target driven with well-defined goals
Multi-discipline understanding and ability to work across' all areas in the project
Ability to handle responsibility and periodically high workload
Willingness to travel.
