Scope of the Project:

Planning and development of regional and California medical center budgets, reviews and analyzes submitted budget/forecast data for completeness, changes in trend, and drivers of change, support complex report development including design, testing and implementation.

Job Description:

As part of a team of two, reporting to the NMF Finance Manager, s/he will be responsible for reporting and financial analysis related to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Medicare Advantage Part C, Part D, Meaningful Use, and HMO Cost Contract programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Participates in planning and development of regional and California medical center budgets.
  • Collaborate with NMF partners to resolve data or payment issues impacting Medicare reimbursement.
  • Reviews and analyzes submitted budget/forecast data for completeness, changes in trend, and drivers of change.
  • Lead the process to streamline, refine and improve the budget/forecast/reporting processes.
  • Support complex report development including design, testing and implementation.
  • Involves interpreting and analysing established concepts and trends.
  • Contribute to implementation of SOX-compliant work processes and internal controls.
  • Develops solutions to a diverse range of complex problems, which require creativity and innovation within broadly defined policies and practices.
  • Provides professional/technical guidance to team members.

Requirements (Must Have):

  • Bachelor's degree in finance related field
  • 8+ years' financial analysis or related experience (finance/accounting combination is preferred)
  • Experience with systems implementations and report development
  • Ability to work with large data sets and complex calculations
  • Expert proficiency in Word and Excel, including advanced functions; knowledge of Visual Basic
  • Thorough knowledge of financial analysis policies, practices and systems
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Expert modelling skills, financial planning, budgeting skills
