Software Design Engineer (C/C++) long term contract opportunity, based in The Netherlands, with a world leading semiconductor organisation. Joining the Software Factory Integration and Factory Automation group, you will develop and realise critical software solutions. You will be involved at all stages of the software development process; specifying, designing, testing and integrating the advanced software for use in world-leading products.

Job Description
* The software engineer is responsible for creating clear specifications on requirements, making the efficient design choices, to 'make it happen' by also implementing the design and verifying the implementation.
* Next to this, the software engineer is responsible for providing effort estimates for the work at hand and identifying dependencies on others.
* Together with the team leader you will schedule activities and agree project deliverables.
* The software delivered will be documented and qualified by means of automated test cases.

Education
* Bachelor or Master level with an education in Computer Science.

Experience
* Demonstrable expertise in C, C++, object oriented programming, Unix/Linux, Solaris, Python, and software configuration management (ClearCase).
* At least 5 years of experience in software development, preferably related to automated system interfaces.
* Experience in the high-tech industry and/or in factory automation has a preference.
* Experience with SECS, EDA and EDI or familiar experience in other industries is a plus.

* Strong communicator with a pragmatic attitude.
* Real team player with quality orientation.
* Good knowledge of the English language.
