Network Engineer Consultant (Cisco/Windows 2012/VMware) 6 months Daily Rate - Fulltime Based in Dublin Monday to Friday. No remote working possible for this project. Please highlight if you have worked on similar Office Relocation/Refurbishment projects in the past.)
Our client is to complete a major refurbishment of their offices in parallel with the re-implementation of their new infrastructure systems and they are looking for a hands on Senior Infrastructure Engineer on contract for approx. 6 months. They will pay a top daily rate as they are looking for a Senior 2nd/3rd level Engineer for the role.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the successful implementation of the new office from an IT perspective, ensuring delivery is aligned with agreed designs
Perform facility surveys for network communications and engineer the layout and location of network components, equipment, cabling, and wiring
Design high performance wired and wireless converged network that supports voice and data services incorporating multiple vendors
Install and configure network hardware and software infrastructure components according to best practices, including Routers, Switches, wifi controllers and Firewalls
Work within established security, configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
Lead the migration of the existing office staff to the new network
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues and liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications and Experience
Likely to have a degree in engineering, information systems, computer science or related subject (Advanced degree desirable)
Professional qualifications and industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP Voice (mandatory), VMWare VCP, Microsoft MCSE, CISSP would be advantageous
Expert knowledge of networking industry standards covering WAN/LAN, voice (VoIP/SIP), data, cabling (Fibre/Copper) deployment, TCP/IP protocols, IPSEC VPN
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls and Cisco Call Manager preferably within availability deployments
Good knowledge of Windows Servers infrastructure ) networking within high-availability deployments including SMTP, DNS, DHCP
Knowledge of VMware ESX/vSphere
5+ years of technology experience in a regulated industry. Financial Services Industry a plus
5+ years of troubleshooting experience, individually or via a managed team
Proven track record in working with 3rd party vendors and consultants in the delivery of large programs of work
