I am currently looking for an E&S Advisor to provide environment and sustainability support to Regional Prime Contract East (RPCE), ensuring all aspects of the contract minimise their impact on the environment. Lead on environmental initiatives and work with all stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions on the contract together with ensuring legal compliance of areas within your control.

Duties will include but are not limited to;
Implement and maintain processes and procedures to achieve ISO 14001 and retain certification.
Develop the system to achieve a sustainable approach to environmental management.
Conduct environmental reviews to identify environmental aspects and impacts and compliance with relevant and proposed legal requirements.
Collect data to monitor progress against RPC (East) objectives, targets and key performance indicators and report on progress.
Produce regular reports to Defence Infrastructure Organisation as well as Babcock Infrastructure Business Unit.
Conduct environmental awareness training, identify training needs, develop material and deliver specific skills training on a variety of subjects including environmental incidents and waste.
Collate data for the production of the annual Sustainability Report
Ensure sustainability appraisals are conducted in line with Defence Infrastructure Organisation requirements
Report any environmental incidents and investigate to ensure that corrective and preventative measures are put in place.
Liaise with stakeholders on key environmental issues
Assist RPCE Health, Safety and Environment Manager and the wider team to liaise with the Supply Chain partners ensuring that they work together to deliver environmental and sustainable solutions.
Undertake promotion of Sustainability good practice throughout delivery organisation.
Provide data on environmental performance for management reviews.
Undertake environmental and sustainability audits in line with procedures and Defence Infrastructure Organisation Safety Health Environmental and Fire (SHEF) requirements.
Provide a focal point for sustainability and environmental issues on the contract and engage the main supply chain members to ensure they operate in a sustainable manner.
Provide support to Core Works and the SHEF Advisor

Professional Qualifications required:

Degree in environmentally related subject

Experience (Technical and Managerial)

Essential:

Experience of implementing Environmental Management Systems to ISO 14001

Desirable:

IEMA Registration or other suitable Institute membership
Environmental Auditing
Environmental Training
Construction/Civil Engineering experience
Experience of H&S

Knowledge:

Essential
Familiar with ISO 14001
Sound knowledge of environmental legislation and industry best practice
Principles of sustainable development as they apply to our sector

Desirable:
BREEAM/DREAM
Environmental Appraisals
Sustainability Appraisals
Lead Auditor Qualification ideally in ISO 14001
