Summary -

Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of design principles, practices and implementation in complex systems and assignments. General responsibilities include design concept generation, participating in design reviews, development and testing to assess performance against design specification; reliability testing, and assessment of system interactions. Makes independent decisions. Assist in the development of manufacturing processes and troubleshooting issues to determine root cause and possible engineering solutions.

Additional Skills -

- Experience of formal requirements management is a must-have. Typical associated tasks are requirements elicitation, requirements tracing, test coverage analysis, trace matrix generation, writing requirements and specification generation .

- Experience of risk analysis is a must-have. Typical associated tasks are hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, FMEA, error handling or error impact analysis.

- Experience with a requirements management tool (such as DOORS or HP Quality Center) is not essential, but would be typical in a candidate with experience in formal requirements management. The tool used at VMS is HP Quality Center.

- Previous experience of complex system development, including fluidics, robotics, software, thermal, electrical, mechanical and biochemistry elements is preferred.

- Previous experience of engineering on medical device/IVD/FDA-regulated products is preferred.
