Description
Essential Responsibilities:- The Process Safety Management Leader's primary responsibility is to implement and manage process safety culture and procedures to identify environmental, health and safety risks, to institute barriers & mitigation strategies
- Develop, Implement, and maintain all aspects of the site's process safety program
- Investigate incidents, near misses and concern reporting involving highly hazardous substances to determine root causes and preventive measures
- Provide company-wide leadership in maintaining compliance with Process Safety Management
- Management of Change for processes involving highly hazardous substances
- Process Safety Information
- Mechanical Integrity procedures and implementation Safety critical device designations and management
- Process Hazards Analysis and closure oversight on recommendations
- Assist EHS Leader in preparation of Emergency Response Drills for worst case scenarios
- Recommend process safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and conduct or direct testing of air quality, noise, and temperature levels to verify compliance with health and safety regulations and perform or direct environmental monitoring as required by permits or GE
- Assist in the maintenance of liaisons with outside organizations to facilitate emergency response programs
- Communicate to all levels of the business on selected projects
- Assist in the development of site wide recognised EHS programs and activities
- Promoting EHS programs across the site, enabling sustainability of the cultural model in operation at site
- Administrative work across the whole EHS department, computer skills, soft skills and presentation skills paramount
Qualifications/Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
- PSM, Seveso 2 & COMAH
- Experience in reading engineering diagrams and analytical lab results
- Knowledge and experience in process hazard analysis methods (e.g. HAZOPs, SWIFT, FMEA, Bow-tie)
- Facilitator experience in HAZOPs, SWIFT, FMEA, Bow-tie, etc
- Knowledge of EH&S issues including applicable regulations
- Experience in conducting employee EHS training
- Compliance Auditing skills
