The market for machine control solutions in the construction industry is experiencing strong growth. The business for this segment is growing even faster. Our client want to maintain this relationship between market growth and business growth. It is their vision to be the preferred supplier of machine control solutions in the construction market segment on a global scale. In order to ensure that this ambitious target is reached we are looking for a highly professional, dedicated and dynamic R&D Director. The position can be based in Switzerland or in Denmark and reports to the President of the Machine Control Division.
R&D Director (m/f)

Your primary duties will include:

Responsible for all product development for the Machine Control Construction business, ensuring products are delivered on time, within budget and with the right quality
Implement and maintain our product development process and standards for project management in order to maximise product development output by actively managing development deliverables and activities across the R&D teams
Responsible for the project portfolio (project and technology roadmap) in accordance with the business strategy (product roadmap)
Provide leadership and general management for the R&D teams based in various locations
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the machine control construction market, key competitors, market drivers and associated trends

To perform these tasks, the ideal candidate should have the following skills and experience:

A relevant university degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with background in electronic or mechanical design engineering. Post-graduate studies will be highly regarded
Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a similar position, preferably in a high tech industry. International experience is a plus
Innovative with a strong sense of urgency, responsibility and accountability
Proven general management experience and strong leadership as well as remote management skills
Ability to interact effectively with multifunctional team members and with staff at all levels of the organization
Excellent strategic thinking and organizational skills
Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English and any other language e.g. German, Danish, Swedish is a benefit
The position will require appr. 40% travelling
