Our client is looking to recruit a Commissioning Manager to lead and organise the safe commissioning of projects in the disciplines of mechanical, electrical or Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) to ensure the appropriate legislative requirements and company standards are followed. The client work within the defence sector and the role will be based in Berkshire.

Key accountabilities
*To deliver the commissioning requirements of the project from design to end of inactive commissioning safely, to quality, time and cost
*To ensure the standards, procedures and work instructions underpinning commissioning are followed
*To ensure commissioning teams are appropriately organised and that key personnel are demonstrably competent to undertake their roles
*To ensure that commissioning activities follow the appropriate Project Delivery Map and where variances are proposed in Project Quality documentation, to agree these
*To ensure that the commissioning of Safety Systems is fully signed off prior to Safety Systems being put into service
*To ensure commissioning records are maintained

Qualifications
*Relevant qualification (eg HNC, HND, BEng, BSc with M&E, C&I with demonstrable practical work experience)
*Process experience within the commissioning industry

Knowledge
*Knowledge of the commissioning of building services and associated equipment
*Knowledge of the commissioning of electromechanical and pressurised systems
*Knowledge of the commissioning of Process Plant & Equipment and associated equipment
*Knowledge of the commissioning of Mechanical Handling Plant and associated services
*Good understanding of off site testing and commissioning
*Familiar with CDM risk assessment and Safe Systems of Work

Experience
*Good people management skills and process experience
*Good experience of commissioning electrical, mechanical and EC&I system
*Good experience of commissioning PP&E and Mechanical Handling systems
*Good experience of managing and working with contractors
*Nuclear plant experience desirable

Skills
*Must have relevant skills in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation, HVAC, PP&E or Mechanical Handling
