Our prestigious and very established customer has an immediate and critical requirement for an experienced Managing Editor/Web Journalist.

Description of requirement:
You will work collaboratively with the clients statistical authors to create engaging, high-quality and innovative content for the website. You'll take complex terms and communicate them simply and accurately, explaining your editorial decisions to internal customers where necessary.

Position Holder Responsibilities:
Can turn statistical outputs into easy-to-read short articles for the website
Has a background in journalism and has previously written copy for newspapers, magazines, corporate news and/or news websites
Has experience communicating a range of topics to different audiences in an interesting and engaging way
Has experience in investigative journalism- using the 5 w's and h, finding the 'story' and seeking out information from sources and contacts through email/interview.
Can work under pressure and to close deadlines
Has a strong grasp of spelling, grammar, plain English and style guide use
Qualification(s) in communications
Has experience working with web and creative teams (publishers, designers, editors) and clients/customers
Can think up new ideas for communicating with the general public
Can think of, find and contact new users of our statistics
Understands search engine optimisation and how it can help us get more traffic to our website
Has an interest in topics that are currently in the public debate - such as: zero hour contracts, NEETs, the economic recovery, the bedroom tax and the living wage.
