A leading defence client has a new requirement for a Information Assurance Engineer for an initial 6 month period. Due to the nature of this position, candidates must currently hold, or be eligible to attain an SC level Security Clearance prior to start.

Job Description

Reporting to the Information Assurance Team Lead, the successful candidate will be an integral part of the Information Assurance Team assisting with obtaining and maintaining accreditation, supporting proposals and project delivery and working closely with customers and the wider project teams.

Responsibilities:

- Producing accreditation documentation including RMADS, SAD and OSMP
- Reviewing and agreeing security requirements
- Ensuring security relevant observations are prioritised and actioned
- Performing regular monitoring for applicable security patches and vulnerabilities
- Producing security impact assessments and ensuring accreditation can be maintained throughout any changes
- Providing technical and procedural advice to the other disciplines such as T&A and ILS within the projects and product streams of the IA Group
- Identifying and resolving IA issues with the MOD Security Assurance Coordinator and Accreditor
- Working with external CTAS evaluators and penetration testers
- Working with the wider BAE security authorities to ensure and maintain accreditation of the internal development and reference facilities

Competencies:

- Information Assurance and IT Security Engineering background.
- Familiarity with software application, operating system and network device vulnerability management.
- Ability to design and implement appropriate IT security controls (Authentication, Event Management Systems, Intrusion Prevention/Intrusion Detection Systems)
- Familiarity with HMG/CESG IA standards and guidance and/or JSP440
- Ability to discuss and resolve issues with the MOD security authorities
- Ability to be flexible and to work within tight timescales when required
- Excellent document production skills in MS Office
- Willingness to travel for short periods
- Practical and self-motivated with a desire to see project success
- Minimum of SC clearance. Must be willing to undergo DV clearance

Experience:

- Experience with systems at SECRET and above
- Experience in a project delivery environment
- Experience in a development environment
- Experience in a support environment
- CISSP or equivalent (desirable)
