Project environment
The Application Quality Team of a global Swiss Insurance Company is looking for a senior Senior Frontend Developer with JavaScript and CSS skills to help supporting the Internet Explorer 11 upgrade initiative.
Tasks
• Support various application owners to fix compatibility issues in the context of the Internet Explorer 11 upgrade process.
• The support should affect mainly JavaScript and CSS related issues but also browser performance and testing.
• The position is not about working on a specific project, but rather supporting the migration of a very high number of applications (around 500) to Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.
• Ensure Cross browser / Cross-device compatibility.
Requirements
• Ideally in-depth experience with old browsers, like IE9 and browser migration projects.
• Experience with Unit Testing JavaScript.
• Experience with performance-related issues in JavaScript.
Technical Skills
• JavaScript
• CSS / "Pure" CSS
• CSS Frameworks like Bootstrap.
• LESS
• SASS
• HTML (especially HTML5)
• Responsive Design
• Knowledge of Native DOM API.
• JavaScript Frameworks
• JQuery
• Grunt/Gulp
• AngularJS would be an asset.
Soft skills
• Good team playing attitude, able to proactively support different applications and stakeholders.
• Capable of producing guidelines and best practices for further development.
