Description
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and design support for leads and neurostimulators. This will encompass evaluating existing products and developing new products to improve therapy performance, product performance, manufacturability and reduce cost.Among other responsibilities, the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Perform detailed design analysis on critical design elements
- Develop test methods for evaluating designs and conducting design reviews to ensure device quality, capability, functional requirements and cost
- Act as a liaison to external suppliers to insure continuity of product supply by resolving supply and quality issues
- Participate or lead corrective action (CAPA) teams to resolve product issues
- Work effectively in a cross-functional environment
The best candidates will possess the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent mix of education and experience
- Past medical device experience, particularly with implantables
- Strong communicator, efficient documentation skills
