My client is one of the worlds most innovative technology companies and they are urgently looking for a Firmware/Electronics Engineer to work within their Products team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to further their career with excellent training & development and the chance to work with cutting edge technology.
The role is primarily product development based and will involve working on and overseeing the design and build of new equipment and coming up with innovative solutions to problems.

Applicants must have good electronic skills but equally must be familiar with software development best practices, such as Agile Development and Software Configuration Management.
Responsibilities
  • Developing & enhancing handheld products
  • Design/build of handheld equipment
  • Product development and testing to specifications
  • Internal and customer point of contact
  • Requirement gathering
  • Firmware development
  • Software configuration management
  • Working as part of a multi discipline team


Essential Requirements
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or similar OR minimum of 5 years' experience in a related field
  • Experience developing for STM32 microcontrollers
  • Experience developing for ARM Cortex (ideally M4 and A9)
  • IAR development environment
  • Knowledge of Bluetooth (HID, SPP, BLE, etc)
  • Knowledge of USB (HID)
  • Experience developing with SPI/I2C/UART
  • Experience developing for touch screen technology
  • Experience developing for PIC microcontrollers
  • Knowledge and experience of battery technology in handheld products
    Proactive
  • Able to easily pick up new technologies
  • Requirements gathering
  • PCB Design, Digital Electronics Design
  • Good problem solving skills, able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Desirable Requirements
  • Experience of developing for embedded Windows or Linux systems
  • Experience of working with electronics associated with radiation detection
  • Experience of working with radiation
  • Experience of programming FPGA's
  • Implementing boot loaders / updating firmware via USB
  • Experience in the development of rugged, handheld devices
  • Windows PC development (C++)
  • Windows / Linux development environment experience
