Essential
- Strong Stakeholder Management skills.
- Detailed understanding of the Investment Banking policy environment, taxonomy and business front-to-back.
- Experience of mapping current policies, ascertaining gaps and working with the business, Compliance, Operational Risk, local Control and Governance teams etc develop/enhance control standards to mitigate potential gaps in the Investment Banking control environment.
- Experience of supporting the end-to-end review process, collating data, interpreting information and assisting in the delivery of both a current state view and list of required activities to enable remediation.
- Experience of delivering the highest quality of Reporting and MI.
Role:
The Controls Office in Investment Banking, is a team that is responsible for coordinating all existing control elements into a consistent and logical model, and will ensure future developments in the business are integrated into this model. It forms part of the banks increasing emphasis on maintaining and enhancing a robust and effective control framework, not just for meeting regulatory requirements, but to deliver upon the core values and promise to all of our stakeholders.
The Controls Office works closely with Front Office Risk and Controls, functionally aligned control teams and Group Governance and Controls, to deliver a seamless control framework across the organization with ownership shared by all. It maintains and enhances the principle that Controls and Governance is a key priority within the bank.
Working within this cross functional team the successful candidate will take responsibility for understanding the Investment Bank (IB) policy environment, its alignment to the IB process taxonomy and work to enhance and develop the required set of consistent control standards. This work will support the embedding of the taxonomy through future end-to-end process reviews to be conducted across the IB asset classes.
