Job Description for Oracle Exadata Consultant
Good command on Exadata, Latest version of Exadata is a must and critical.
Good Exposure to Exadata Hardware Architecture including Database Grid, Storage Grid and Infiniband
Solid Exposure to Exadata Configurations including X2-2, X2-8, full rack and the latest X3-8
Solid understanding of key Exadata features including Hybrid Columnar Compression, Exadata Smart Flash Cache, Exadata Storage Index and Exadata Storage Management & Administration
Hands on experience on Managing & administering Database and ASM
Monitor and fine tuning the Exadata Database Machine Hardware
Administor Plug-ins to monitor the Exadata Storage Cells and other components in the Database Machine
Administor Auto Service Request (ASR)
Administor Local Exadata Storage cell management
Administor Distributed Shell utility to execute CLI across multiple cells
Administor Embedded Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM)
Administor Remote management and administration of hardware Minimum 6+ years experience as Oracle DBA with RAC and ASM
Minimum 1+ year experience on Exadata Machine.
Good hands on Linux operating system.
Exadata monitoring via OEM 12c
Patching of Exadata (storage cells, database Servers)
Implementation of IORM (I/O Resource Manager)
Implementation of Hybrid Columnar Compression
Migration to Exadata
Performance tuning of Exadata environments
Proactively give DBA support to his/her assigned project.
Maintain and update the DBA related Project documents. (Server Details, Performance Monitor Report (periodic), Backup Strategy, backup logs, weekly activity report, cronjob logs)
Monitoring daily scheduled jobs, database performance logs, reports and backups.
Experience of Database and Query tuning
Experience of setting and defining Backup and Recovery strategies with import/export & via RMAN. Should possess sound knowledge & experience in RMAN.
Have Knowledge of major UNIX and Oracle server parameters and their impact on DBMS functioning
Knowledge of Application Server (such as Oracle 9iAS) components and configuration)
Has experience handling different Oracle Products on UNIX systems, Shell Scripting and DBA related UNIX commands
