VBA Developer - European Commission - Brussels
For one of our projects at the European Institutions in Brussels, we are urgently looking for a VBA developer.
Role:
The contractor will participate in the analysis, design, development and maintenance of a new information system for the Department. The system will be developed for internal use at the Commission and will be based on client software development. The contractor will produce the documentation of the software.
S/he works closely together with the project manager(s) and the end users.
Main tasks:
- Analysis of user requirements.
- Preparing technical specifications.
- Design and prototyping of the user interface.
- Write and maintain programs that reflect the specifications.
- Elaboration and execution of test programs.
- Definition and integration of technological components.
- Integration of applications.
- Writing technical, support and user documentation.
- Deployment and configuration of systems.
- Assist the support team with the training of the administrators and users of the systems.
- Evaluate and test software products for conformity with the Commission requirements and methodology.
- Participate in meetings with users and colleagues.
For this role you need to have experience in:
- In-depth knowledge and proven experience with VBA programming (Visual Basic for Applications) for MS - Access and MS - Excel, database design with MS - Access.
- An in-depth knowledge of application development environments
- Good knowledge of the design and development of client software applications
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and tools
- Good knowledge of relational database systems
The next are considered assets:
- Knowledge and experience with JIRA, Subversion and Business Objects are an advantage.
Languages:
Fluent in English and French is an asset
