Description
Senior Cost Accountant, with experience working in manufacturing/engineering/rail environments, required for a 4 month contract to provide accurate and timely financial analysis to all areas of a project portfolio.Principal Accountabilities:
Ensure that reporting & forecasting of costs & recoveries for Supply Chain, Field Ops and HSE is both timely & robust and follows good accounting practice.
Take a proactive role in working with department heads to maximise labour utilisation.
Maintain detailed analysis of costs & revenues for all projects in the Aftermarket Services portfolio, ensuring compliance to profit & revenue recognition policies.
Ensure that Aftermarket sales invoices are correctly raised in accordance with contract terms & operate a robust credit control system to ensure that customer payments are received when due.
Support Cost Accountant - Manufacturing in collection & analysis of manufacturing labour data, including agency labour.
Gain & maintain detailed knowledge of Manufacturing accounts cycle & processes to be able to cover when Cost Accountant - Manufacturing is absent.
Provide strong support to Senior Manager Finance - Operations & cost centre managers within the Operations portfolio.
Review systems & processes to identify opportunity to streamline & improve.
Ad-hoc analysis & reporting as required.
Qualifications;
Essential
CIMA qualified or equivalent
Confident communicator
Proactive approach
Ability to produce & interpret meaningful financial analysis
Desirable
Knowledge of ERP systems
Experience in Contract Accounting (POC) environment
Experience in Manufacturing Accounting environment
