Job Summary

The Information Security Analyst III will be the technical lead responsible for provisioning access to enterprise applications and systems. This will be accomplished by maintaining a high degree of focus on customer service. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with governmental and departmental regulations and controls. You must be familiar with specific IT Identity & Access Management guidelines and policies and possess a serious commitment to accuracy and quality.

This position requires knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and experience in developing automation scripts for Active Directory account management. It also requires programming and scripting experience in languages like VB script or Java script and the ability develop ad hoc programs and scripts required for automating various aspects of access management. You will also be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and enhancements of various in-house and third party applications used by our department.

You must be able to present information in professional, well-written formats and have the ability to maintain very close attention to detail. You may be called upon to assist in ways to improve data access protection while protecting UCSF Medical Center's reputation.

This position interacts with physicians, nurses and various IT internal groups, external departments, and outside vendors and consultants. You will be responsible for providing day to day supervision and leadership to the Identity & Access Management functions within the medical center in the absence of the Supervisor.

You must be detailed oriented, provide oversight and information updates to management. The incumbent is also responsible for providing the technical support for improving current processes. Participate in systems and application planning and implementation of Access Control or Security initiatives both from within and between departments. The Sr. Security Analyst III must have superior work relationships with other IT Departments such as the Customer Support Center, Applications, Learning Services and Server Engineering etc. Lastly, this position provides off shift provisioning support to the Medical Center.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Comprehensive and clear verbal and written communications skills; proven project management and leadership ability; interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in an application security environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Software: Microsoft Visual .NET, Adobe Acrobat
  • Programming: Bean Shell Scripting, Cache
  • Healthcare experience, preferably in EPIC environment
