Compliance Manager

The Role

The role ensures that grant-related checks on beneficiaries, also known as "primary checks", are carried out in line with the contractual requirements for the predecessor programmes, Youth in Action, Comenius and Erasmus.

The immediate job aims are to: carry out audit visits to higher education institutes and youth organisations, carry out desk checks of supporting grant information and provide accurate reporting on primary checks for internal and external purposes.

Duties

  • Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation by the Compliance Team of existing and new management strategies which contribute to business objectives
  • Support the development and management of relationships with other functions in and the wider organisation to ensure immediate and longer-term objectives and priorities are shared and understood
  • Contribute to team planning, monitoring and review activities, actively engaging team members to achieve team goals and building a strong and productive team
  • Contribute to designing change within the function
  • Contribute to the preparation of the annual risk assessment for EU programme area
  • Undertake check visits (up to 10 for Youth in Action and up to 6 for Erasmus) of beneficiaries on a risk basis, and write beneficiary reports as a result of checks undertaken
  • Monitor and report on progress on outstanding issues raised in previous checks and visits

  • Demonstrable knowledge and skills in programme and project management

  • Internal and external stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Self-organisational skills
  • Experience of procuring EU contracts and managing compliance;
  • Experience of managing internal and external stakeholders relationships
  • A track record of contributing to the development of external partnerships and business development opportunities
