Cognos Report Writer for EpicSummary:
Looking for an experienced report writer well versed in Cognos. Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in Query, Report and Analysis Studios, be meticulous, and have a high level of attention to detail with documentation. They will need to evaluate the ongoing need for change to the Standard reports & dashboards in the Cognos system, which supports the overall strategic direction of the company.
Responsibilities:
Expert working with Cognos 8.4 & Cognos 10.
- Advanced Cognos reporting skills.
- Previous healthcare experience is a plus.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with business stakeholders and IT staff to implement new changes.
- Develop dashboards for key business users, document and train users on how to use dashboards.
- Experience with Epic systems
- Be decisive and assertive and show initiative in problem-solving.
- Understands data warehouse functionality provided to users by studying business requirements, technical schema, and documentation.
- Ensures data quality by re-defining data integrity processes, quality standards, monitoring systems, and audit and reconciliation processes; modifying documentation with in the report writing task.
- Maintains data acceptability by monitoring standards; reviewing business processes.
- Document the process/application changes required to support the desired functionality and/or outcome, identify and document key system gaps in the report writer role.
- Assist in developing, updating and implementing procedures for maintaining information in the Cognos system.
- Strong analytics skills.
- Excellent communication and motivation skills, and ability to interact appropriately with business users and technical staff.
Qualifications:
Education- BA degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience- 3 to 6 years writing Cognos Reports, using Query Studio, Report Studio, Analyst Studio; Certification in Cognos 8.4 or 10 for Report Studio, dashboards and Analysis Studio
