Sr. Risk Operations Engineer (E&P Company-SME) -Houston, TXOne of the largest Domestic and International E&P companies in the United States is looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Sr. Risk Operations Engineer (E&P Company) within the Mid-Continent Business Unit based in Houston, Texas.
This position will serve as the Permian EOR and Resources Business Units' subject-matter-expert with regards to the requirements and programs to manage the Business Unit Assets' HES risks.
The company uses 3-D seismic surveys and cutting-edge managed pressure drilling techniques to efficiently extract oil and liquid-rich gas from a variety of complex, high-temperature, high-pressure formations with a focus on the Piceance Basin, the Williston, and the Eagle Ford Shale as well as Bakersfield and West Texas
Essential Job Duties:
- Provide consulting services to the Asset functional departments (facilities & construction, operations, maintenance/mechanical integrity, well servicing, drilling) on process safety regulatory compliance.
- Lead/participate in process hazard reviews such as HAZOPs, What-Ifs and advise Asset functional departments in resulting actions and measures completion.
- Assist Asset functional departments in process design reviews and identification of issues at conceptual stage and serve as the HES Risk lead for the projects.
- Review and verification of hazard identification studies and HES risk assessments for the Permian Surface Operations, Gas Plants, and Drilling/Well Servicing departments.
- Support the development and implementation of HES risk management programs to be effective and in accordance.
- Assist in the implementation of the newly revised Regulatory Risk Management program for the Gas Plants and the Specialized Field Risk Management program for the Permian surface operations.
- Participate in Asset process safety/risk related incident investigations;
- Support the development and implementation of optimal HES risk mitigation strategies and methodologies;
- Support the development and implementation of tools to analyze HES risks and exposures;
Qualifications
- BS degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering
- 5+ years working experience in HES risk management and loss prevention, preferably in oil and gas operations.
- Strong leadership skills with desire to manage personnel in future positions.
- Strong working knowledge of and experience in OSHA Process Safety Management; EPA Risk Management Plan; Process Hazard Analyses; Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance; Management of Change; Process Safety Information; Emergency Response Planning; Fire Protection; Pre-Startup Safety Reviews; Operating and Maintenance Procedures; Facility Siting of Portable and Permanent Buildings.
- Working knowledge of National Consensus Standards (e.g., NFPA, API, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, ISA, etc.)
