Position summary
The Solutions Engineering Team are structured with three key focus areas : Infrastructure Architecture, Project Delivery and Acquisitions. We are responsible for reviewing, approving and delivering the new requirements as they come in from the different product groups and development teams. Our goal is to design and build infrastructure solutions that are robust and "Fit for purpose", using the standard global models.
The position of an Infrastructure Solutions Architect focuses upon providing technical guidance and advice, including leadership on our technical approach and product selection. You will manage internal engineering teams and third party suppliers throughout the project lifecycle from requirement gathering to deployment and will have a huge impact on setting and delivering the Infrastructure Strategy.
It is expected that Solution Architects will drive reviews of global standards and fosters a culture where standards are defined and agreed globally where necessary.
Duties & accountabilities
Review requirements from products and lead discussions with stakeholders and Infrastructure team heads in order to get a solution defined, scoped and costs agreed.
Architect, design, document and agree "standard" global infrastructure solutions
Help and guide IT infrastructure teams to review Infrastructure offerings, and work with vendors where new solutions would benefit.
Assist Infrastructure project managers with scope, approach and sign off.
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to existing infrastructure offerings
Education and Experience
An understanding of capacity management and planning
Solid experience in Infrastructure Architecture
University graduate
ITIL awareness / accreditation
First-rate architectural knowledge of VMware, Linux, Windows, Databases (Oracle DB & RAC/ MSSQL), Web, Messaging and Networking
Software and Infrastructure life cycle management.
Broad knowledge of technical processes.
On-going awareness of infrastructure developments in the IT industry
Knowledge of the business drivers and constraints with the Financial Services sector
