Role - Credit Risk Analyst    

Duration - 4 months

Location - Pendeford

Purpose of the Role

There is a vacancy for a Credit Risk Analyst to join the Mortgage Credit Risk team, working across several interdependent workstreams improving processes and controls across the new end to end business processes.

Core Skills

  • Be competent in dealing with large volumes of data across multiple systems, and be able to understand and quickly become an expert in mortgage data.
  • Be able to evaluate trends and key performance indicators as well as develop upon the existing Management Information and where appropriate escalate to Senior Management in order to provide early warning to help the Group identify, and mitigate credit risks.
  • Lead portfolio analysis by applying strong analytical and economics principles where required, to identify and evaluate portfolio credit risk, providing recommendations to amend front book/new lending strategies and credit policies.
  • Actively look to provide solutions and recommendations from the results of analysis to ensure that the team is adding value to the business and actively managing the risk of the portfolio.
  • Work closely with the other colleagues across Mortgage Risk, to ensure a collaborative approach to delivering fully integrated solutions.

The candidate will have the following skill set:

  • Analysis using SAS (knowledge of SAS Macros will be advantageous)
  • Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of credit risk management of new lending strategies (experience of Mortgage acquisition strategies and exposure to Buy To Let portfolios would be ideal)
  • Strong demonstrable ability in manipulating and interpreting large amounts of data from a number of sources.
  • A high level of creativity, drive, innovation and initiative, with good time management and planning skills.
  • Strong communication skills
