Structural Engineer - Water- CambridgeHuxley Engineering and one of the UK's leading names in Water Division are looking to recruit Structural Engineers on a permanent base.
My client is one of the main bidders for the AMP6, and this position will give you the opportunity to a talented Structural Engineer with strong water/wastewater industry experience to join their team in Cambridge
You will be involved
- A wide range of challenging civil/ structural projects including conceptual and detailed structural design of new infrastructure
- Inspection and recommendation for existing structures
- Involved in the production of both manual and design calculation
- Method statements and risk assessments
- Represent the company in technical meeting with clients and contractors partners
- Provide guidance to more junior staff
- Work and communicate with staff above and below
The successful Structural Engineer will have:
- Relevant minimum degree level qualified
- Chartered Engineer (or working towards Charteship with ICE or IStructE)
- Strong structural engineering experience in the UK water/wastewater industry
- Experience using structural design/analysis software, and some experience of BIM
- Strong technical knowledge of the design of typical water industry structures, particularly water-retaining reinforced concrete structures and foundations
- Able to prepare sketches, mark-up drawings and use specifications
- Experience of structural steelwork/masonry design is desirable
