Structural Engineer - Water- Cambridge

Huxley Engineering and one of the UK's leading names in Water Division are looking to recruit Structural Engineers on a permanent base.

My client is one of the main bidders for the AMP6, and this position will give you the opportunity to a talented Structural Engineer with strong water/wastewater industry experience to join their team in Cambridge

You will be involved
  • A wide range of challenging civil/ structural projects including conceptual and detailed structural design of new infrastructure
  • Inspection and recommendation for existing structures
  • Involved in the production of both manual and design calculation
  • Method statements and risk assessments
  • Represent the company in technical meeting with clients and contractors partners
  • Provide guidance to more junior staff
  • Work and communicate with staff above and below


The successful Structural Engineer will have:
  • Relevant minimum degree level qualified
  • Chartered Engineer (or working towards Charteship with ICE or IStructE)
  • Strong structural engineering experience in the UK water/wastewater industry
  • Experience using structural design/analysis software, and some experience of BIM
  • Strong technical knowledge of the design of typical water industry structures, particularly water-retaining reinforced concrete structures and foundations
  • Able to prepare sketches, mark-up drawings and use specifications
  • Experience of structural steelwork/masonry design is desirable
