Description

Role: Senior Business Support & Research Officer
Type: Contract
Duration: 3 months (potentially a further 3 month extension as well as the opportunity to apply for the perm role if desired)
Rate: /day

My public sector client is looking for an experienced Business support/Research officer to assist them on an interim basis while they recruit the permanent equivalent. This is very much a "hybrid" role and thus, the successful candidate is required to be flexible in their approach to the tasks at hand. There will be a variety of tasks that they will need to undertake, therefore the organisation requires someone who can be both hands-on and strategic.

Tasks will include:

-All round business support
-Events/rooms/hotel bookings
-Attending, and sometimes coordinating team meetings, as well as collating and allocating action points to the appropriate senior managers. The ability to provide constructive input towards the leadership team in this environment is essential.
-Research work development around training offered in the sector, research around private rents and also in terms of what is happening across various government initiatives. Research tasks may also extend to events and events management; there are a series of events that they will run throughout the year but the organisation is not always fully researched on this
-Assist with determining the strategic direction of the organisation and identifying future scope of work and sector development activities
-Supporting the communications to a variety of internal and external stakeholders and project communications
-Support the business planning cycle
-Produce high level business and report writing

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate their experience of the above mentioned tasks and/or the ability to undertake them. You will ideally have direct experience of research, strategic planning and general business support. Excellent stakeholder communication skills are essential as is the ability to write in an accurate, succinct manner. You must be a collaborative worker who is prepared to "muck in" when required and have excellent all round people skills. Accounting/financial management expertise is desirable as is a general political awareness.

If you would like to be considered for this exciting opportunity, please apply before 5pm on Wednesday 3rd September.
