Experienced VHDL FPGA Engineer wanted to join my client in Basildon.

The successful candidate will have experience with Mentor graphics tools such as Modelsim and Xilinx and Model driven engineering tools including Matlab and Simulink

Skills, qualifications & knowledge

The following skills and experience are required:
. Educated to degree level in engineering or related subject, or equivalent.
. VHDL based FPGA design and verification techniques covering leading edge technologies
. Awareness of Mentor Graphics FPGA Development tools including HDL Designer, Modelsim and Precision and Xilinx Tools such as Vivado and XST
. Awareness of firmware development to RTCA DO-254
. Experience of writing and creating firmware requirements, module Interface Documents and procurement specifications.
* Specification of complex timing & area constraints for efficient place & route
* Experience of de-bugging and testing firmware designs and supporting module and system related test, verification and integration project phases
* Awareness of Model Driven Engineering tools including MATLAB and Simulink
* High Speed Interface Design & Integration, DSP and Embedded processing.
* Experience of implementing Ethernet based solutions using Xilinx MAC cores.

Key responsibility areas
Experienced in the principles of firmware design and capable of carrying out FPGA design work using a structured design process

Have the ability to analyse system level documents and derive detailed FPGA requirements under own initiative.

Design of Complex FPGA devices utilising the latest FPGA technologies.

Independent Firmware Assessments within peer group of medium complexity firmware designs

Intrinsic job factors
This is an office based role using display screen equipment working full time hours which can often be in a demanding environment, with occasional travel throughout the UK and Italy.
