Project manager IT Applications.
Responsibilities:
The task of a Project Manager is to plan, execute and finalize projects in accordance with strict deadlines and set budgets. This includes attaining resources and commitments via the Resource Managers and coordinating the efforts of the team members and external contractors or advisors to deliver the project according to plan. The Project Manager also defines the goals of the project and looks over the quality throughout the course of the project .
You are responsible for the governance of one or more medium sized to large and moderate to complex projects. You manage efforts end-to-end with oversight on analysis, development and test resources.
You are responsible for determining the size, planning, execution and control of the project, so the projects stay on schedule and within budget. You manage the relation between IT and the business on project level.
Develop and document project business cases and project plans, in order to permit the senior management to make correct decisions and to manage the project right.
Translate the customers' business requirements in the project plan, in order to obtain a result in agreement with the expectations and the business strategy of the customer.
Look over budget, planning, activities, results and accomplishments of the project and it's evolution, in order to be able to present the correct status at any given time and to make progress reports.
Analyze potential risks that can affect the project and/ or its results. Execute action plans to restrict these risks.
Assign roles and tasks within the project, milestones, budgets and measuring of successes. Lead project/ kick-off meetings, in order to communicate individual roles and project expectations and to make sure that the needed resources and training to execute the project effectively are available for all members of the project team. Procure presentation or workshops on project approach, design and follow-up.
Take care of a correct time registration of the project activities of all personnel engaged in the project. Maintain contact with the Project Management Office for support with control and reporting of the project. Control financial results en draw up management reports, carry-over problems and differences in the budgets where needed.
Control the projects continuously, evaluate the progress and quality, govern the project to resolve problems and to take corrective measures. Manage proactively changes in the project, define probable crises and reflect on contingency plans.
Optimize the use of resources via specific development and mobility programs within the projects under your responsibility.
Collaborate with the Release Manager, with eye on good operational results and give support where needed in the early phase of the project.
Conduct control after implementation, where the results of the project are evaluated, including customer satisfaction.
Technical skills:
At least 5 yrs of experience in an (IT) Project management role:
• Business environment
• Project governance
• Leading a project team
• IT-experience in application of PMBOK, Prince 2, or other best practices
• Business project with IT applications impact (analysis development, testing, deployment, aftercare, …)
Experience in managing projects (500 to 1000 Md). Experience in managing 3th party and Fixed price projects.
Strong organizational and planning skills - creates and guards focus and structure. Ability to prioritize effectively and to handle tasks under pressure.
Able to respect changing priorities, requests and timelines, thanks to good analytical and problem solving capacities. Able to grasp quickly project related issues. Looks actively for alternatives and solutions. Reacts quick and effective to improvements and adjustments of projects. Copes with change.
Able to establish collaboration between a wide range of sources, including higher management, customers and other departments
Active risk management.
Has operated in a matrix structure
Strong reporting, follow-up and administrative skills.
Strong change management capacities (soft skills), agent in change.
Not required, but may be of particular interest:
- Project Management certification and experience in Utilities sector.
Personal skills:
Good written and oral communication and presentation skills.
Proficient in speaking and writing English and Dutch/French
Convincing, stimulating and motivating.
