Site Engineer
Overall purpose
The Site Engineer is responsible for the Quality and Technical follow up of a site in construction included Radio equipment. It consists of Outdoor and Indoor sites.
The Site Engineer leads the build process of telecom installations (Design/engineering, build and rebuild) within the customer specifications and guidelines.
In general the Site Engineer is 70% in office and 30% out in the field. Depending on the need of the project, the Site Engineer needs to be more or less present on the office location.

Roles & Responsibilities
The Site Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Collect documentation for the Technical Site Survey Report
- take the lead during site visits (Acquisition process) and they discuss the technical solution with the parties involved
- During the technical visits in Acquisition they manage the technical solution in such a way that the most cost efficient solution is found.
- Validation of drawings made by the architects based on the technical visit
- Continuously update plan for specific single site
- Kick off Meetings prior to the site construction
- Create, based upon engineering the material list .
- Controlling material flow
- Detailed follow up of the construction phase with as aim that the site is built at the required quality. By doing this they make sure the site can be accepted first time right.
- He/She helps the subcontractor increasing the quality of the sites
- Collect and control quality of Site Audit Report, Site Acquisition documents, Site Drawings etc., including Execution documents during site building process from subcontractors
- Coordinate and drive Technical Site Surveys
- Controls that the site is build regarding the Building Permit, Stability and Technical requirements.
- Supervising progress of site building process; Site Acquisition, Civil Works Design, Civil Works Construction, Installation&Integration, Initial Tuning including Acceptance.
- Solving problems escalated by Subcontractors
- Consult subcontractors of site related requirements
- Control rectification of installation defects
- Inspection of work done by subcontractors
- Collect Site documentation for Acceptance
- Coordinate and drive Acceptance
- Escalate problems to Roll Out/Delivery Manager
- Continuously provide input for SiteHandler through the site building process
- Ensure that the sub-contractors' installation staff works according to instructions given
Authorities
The Site Engineer shall have sufficient authorization rights in the corporate environment to be able to efficiently execute the described role.

Reports to
The Site Engineer reports to the Roll Out/Delivery Manager.
Interface to
Internal:
All Functional Units within the roll out process/project, eg Site Design, Work Preparation, Negotiator, Government Relations Officer, Radio Planner, Delivery Manager, Process Support, Acceptance Desk etc.,etc.
External:
External authorities: governmental or private, eg ASP's, Hardware Supplier, Landlord.
- Coordinating skills because of steering ASP( s) and be the first/main point of contact for the ASP( s)
- Technical knowledge of 2G/3G/4G Ericsson telecom radio access systems.
Knowledge of TX Micro Wave link roll out is a pre. - Has a good understanding of the Telecom roll out process in general: Search, Technical Site Survey, Engineering package, Build kickoff, Logistics ordering, Build phase, Civil Works ready, Manco/issue management, Build acceptance/quality audit, As built review, etc. etc.
- Dutch and English communication skills both in written and verbal
- Administrative skills due to daily use of process planning and status tracking tool per site (Site Handler) and capturing agreements during site survey
- Problem solving capability and negotiation skills: find site design/solutions in balance with requirements of Radio Planner, Landlord, Health & Safety guidelines and technical solution that is required and managing that the outstanding issues with ASP and Customer Acceptance Desk are solved in time
- Relation management skills: eg Landlord stays cooperative for future changes/projects on their premises
- Is capable to work under pressure to reach challenging targets
- Is a team player but can be self-supporting
- Is cost driven with focus on first time right, not overlooking quality and time (targets)
- Is pro-active: gets the information needed and does not wait
- Asks for more work to superior if the workload is getting less and dears to say NO to new projects if the workload is too high
- Can handle (positive and negative) feedback and shows improvement from that feedback
- Shares ideas related to process improvements and better efficiency in day to day activities, shares this knowledge with colleagues and superior

Required competence, skills/attributes
Preferred:
- Technical knowledge of:
- Antenna & feeder installations
- Ericsson 2G, NodeB/3G, 4G/LTE Installations & Integrations
- Power installations
Required education and experience
Technical education and at least 2 years of experience with turn-key Telecoms rollout projects, preferably with interaction with outside plant/civil works.
