Open Systems Inc. (OSI) is recruiting for a Virtualization/VMWare Engineer for Data Center solutions support for Virtualization projects and density related activities for our Client's server consolidation and support project.

Job Description

  • Plan and architect VMWare solution using best practices.
  • Manage the technical tasks associated with the implementation of the virtualization solutions in complex environments assuring the timely and quality completion of the deliverables.
  • Partner with other engineers and the internal development team to effectively manage updates to the Virtualization environments and the overall solution life cycle.
  • Provide support for issue resolution, assessment of system environment readiness, and installation.
  • Proactively manage capacity to ensure the most cost effective solutions.
  • Provide recommendations on the process improvements related to VMWare implementation.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Computer Science, Information Technology with 5+ years' experience
    5 - 7 years Linux/Windows (80%/20%) experience (prefer Redhat Linux) in a large (100+) server environment. Requires 3 + years configuring - Linux/Windows infrastructure and systems, supporting
  • Working with virtual operating systems - (VMWare) with experience in UCS, TSC and VDI.
  • 3+ years' experience working with SAN and Blade infrastructure.
    Hands on design, build, and administration of Red Hat Linux, VMware, and the hardware it resides (UCS & VBlock).
  • Working knowledge of SAN environments with the ability to administer and troubleshoot these systems.
  • Working knowledge of UCS Blade server environments with the ability to administer and troubleshoot these systems.
  • Working knowledge of VMware environments with the ability to administer and troubleshoot these systems.
  • Be able to script needed tasks.
