Data Warehouse Administrator

Our client is currently building its Data Warehouse in order to facilitate and optimize its data collection processes and reports production. This Data Warehouse will also be used as the source for information for its new Transparency Web site part of the EU Regulation 715.

The project started in September 2013 is divided into several phases, the last one due at the end of September 2014.

In order to build the system, our client has selected a system integrator and a consultant already on board since September 2013.

In order to prepare the transition from the project phase to the operation one, this document describes the tasks that will need to be fulfilled by the future tool administrator.

These tasks aim at both:
> Reinforcing the project team to complete the project
> Facing their needs related to data analysis and data warehouse expertise necessary to the administration and follow-up of the product after the go-live of the project

Description of tasks and organization of work

As the difference with Transparency Platform the new project will be owned by our client (the integrator providing a level 2 support/maintenance) and covers a much wider range of features. Therefore they will have to ensure the actual administration of the tool in order to fully use its potential.

The detailed breakdown of tasks to be carried out is:
> During the course of the project:
? Participate to the validation of test cases and corresponding
? Participate to system/functional/performance testing of the Data Warehouse, its standard reports, cubes and other data analysis means

You will:
? Participate to the management of the Master and Reference Data
? Review detailed functional specifications
? Propose potential detailed functional specification enhancements
? Enhance and document the data governance processes
? Prepare the go-live

> Following project go-live:
? Ensure post go-live support to system users
? Manage master and reference data
? Liaise with the system integrator in order to follow-up bug fixed and other system enhancements
? Monitor functional errors and be the point of contact for TSOs integrated with the system
? Develop new queries and reports for users inside and potentially outside our client.
? Train users to Microsoft BI suite mechanisms
? Preliminary analysis ofthe project's evolution need as defined by their Working Areas

The administrator will be under the General Area of the client and will be part of the Project Team until the go-live.

Following the go-live, the administrator will work in close collaboration with the data analysts of both System Development and System Operations. In order to ensure continuous TSO involvement, a group of TSO IT Experts to be chaired by the administrator could be established.

Necessary skills
The completion of the tasks detailed above supposed that the administrator is familiar with the following tasks:
> General IT knowledge and experience
> Knowledge of databases management and in particular Data Warehouse solutions
> Knowledge or experience in Microsoft BI suite (SSDB, SSIS, SSAS, SharePoint, PowerView)
> Knowledge of Excel tools including pivot tables
> Experience in data integration/B2B solutions
> Hands on skills in custom queries development and report development
> Knowledge in the energy sector, more preferably in the gas sector and moreover in the gas transmission area is a plus considering the complexity of the data model (complexity of gas network model and aggregation principles)

A senior expertise in those skills is not necessary as the person will develop them during the project phase.
